Yes cruiser I plan to test mine today. I was just questioning if there was a way of testing to get a cheap replacement/spare. But I found that they are not the expensive when looking at them online.
Ill do the test and see where I'm at and get back with you guys.

Well I realized after I started messing with the Jeep today that I left my tester at work last week. So I was just trying to locate and see the cps and maybe check the connection.
Well I found out that the wires going down to the cps were all melted from the heatshield on the header. I did not see exposed wires however the outside sheeting of those two wires was melted pretty bad.
So I pulled lightly and wiggled the wires, poured some gas in the throttle body, jumped it with the wife's xj and it fired right up....
I think I have now found my issue.

Hey on a side note, I'm trying to completely flush my cooling system, I will have access to a hose that's about it. How would you do it properly?
Considering I found a pile of thick dirt/sand in the filler neck of my new 3 core rad I'd say it needs to be done asap.
Here's how I had planned to do it:
Take the upper and lower rad hose off, flush high pressure water through the rad. Then remove the thermostat housing and flush water through the block out the bottom of the water pump.
I planned on replacing my thermostat and drilling 2 small holes like others have mentioned. And reinstall and add fresh new 50-50 mix.
Does that sound like it would work well? Give any tips or advice you have.
(For people who don't know, I fully converted to the open cooling system with all brand new components 5 months ago.)

Yeah that's what I was thinking. There was a lot of lazy work done on this by the PO.

Go for it. You might remove the hoses from the heater core and flush it separately also.
