Agreed, again, look at congress, they are everywhere. I think instead of being run by corporate/big money, it should be more like Jury duty. "Dam Jeeper, you now will sit on congress for two weeks". There is no way that could be worse than what we have now!

That is too easy. This is America. We like it difficult, time consuming and costly. That is why it's LADY freedom. Not Mr. Freedom. It kind of reminds me of jeeps as well....

CTS is reading 208* when the fan kicks on.
Both are mounted low.......
My dash temp gauge reads between 200 and 210 when the e-fan comes on in all 3 of my Jeeps with the factory 195* stat. .
You guys may be over thinking this location deal.

Science! The thought is... down low your temp is 208, but what is the temp up high? If the temperature (and sensor) is higher up on the thermostat housing, your fan would kick on earlier than if it were reading from down low. Hence kicking on "too early" or for longer periods of time. ?

Well, if my temp gauge reads between 200 and 210 when the e-fan comes on, and my DRB is reading the CTS at 208*, whaddya think?
I'm thinking physics is over thinking this as the coolant is FLOWING AT A HIGH RATE.........Not static.

I'm confused now
.....obviously the back of the head, the t-sat cover and the cold side of the rad r 3 different locations. Coolant temps at the back and front of the head will be about the same, but coolant temp at the cold end of the rad would be substantially lower than coolant temp in the head, I would think. How much substantially is,

Looks like Djb was right again. (I did a little searchen), See "Sanddad, post #15>>>> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/ren...d-shift-63044/
I don't know if you might need a later model switch though. It's allot hotter at the t-stat housing then it is down there at the original switch. Just last week I saw 176* on the switch, (fan running), and over 215* on spots on my t-stat housing. (IR temp gun).
