Looks like Djb was right again. (I did a little searchen), See "Sanddad, post #15>>>> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/ren...d-shift-63044/

I don't know if you might need a later model switch though. It's allot hotter at the t-stat housing then it is down there at the original switch. Just last week I saw 176* on the switch, (fan running), and over 215* on spots on my t-stat housing. (IR temp gun).

So rewiring it up to the Stat housing, I'd do a later model switch with it. But if it's hotter at the housing, wouldn't the fan kick on faster than if it were still down lower? (If it worked) would that be a good thing?

We need a Renix expert to chime in here. I'm thinking the Renix radiator style sending unit triggers at a lower temp than the late model stat housing style sending unit. So, if a rad style sending unit was relocated to the stat cover, it would signal the efan too soon/too low temp.

So, if a rad type sensor turns on at 208 and it was mounted in the stat cover, it would likely have the efan running more often and maybe for longer times as well....depending on the driving conditions.

I would think it would.. if its 208* up top, its probably only around 180* down low. if the switch is meant to kick on at 208* then it would kick on too "early", considering its only 180* down low...

Kind of what I was thinking. Mr Cruiser is likely using his DRB II scanner, which likely is reading his engine temp sensor. (so the thick plottens!)

I can mess this up even more. My fan comes on with the relay on the left inner fender removed. I've yet to locate another relay......until I DO, I've got to figure that switch is handling fan current.

Manning just broke Bret Farbs passing touchdown record!(still in the first 1/2).

Yes, it stands to reason that the later, in the hot housing kicks on at a higher temp, than the Renix down on the "cool" side of the rad.

Sorry, cheerleaders aside, Texas screws everything up. Take Bush and Ebola for example...."hey, let's start two wars, lower taxes for the rich, and turn a sick guy from Africa out of the ER back into the public...see how that goes.

10-4! The pilot pulled back on the controls and prevented a crash. (unfortunantly none of the co-conspirators went to prison) A miracle it's even flying, what with all the help from congress. At least we are giving the rest of the modern world a good laugh!
