Default Renix to HO Swap

So I have an 89 jeep Cherokee and the engine is starting to get a lifter tick and the oil pressure is low so I was wondering, what issues could I run into swapping a 4.0 straight six from a 95 Cherokee Into my 89? Is it possible to just swap all the sensors from my engine over to the HO from 95? or is it more complicated than that?

Sweet! While you are checking that tip out, have a look at the rest cus it will better prepare you for putting that HO in there.

Have fun and wear gloves!

So my engine in my 89 isn't dead yet but oil pressure when hot at idle is around 18 psi and around 30 or 35 during acceleration so I was wondering if i ran a thicker oil(like 15w 30), would it make my engine last a little longer? Or is it just a waste of time and money trying?

Your oil pressure is still in specs. Minimum pressure at normal operating temp at idle is 13psi. If was mine I wouldn't. Worry about the pressure. But if you want you can verify the pressure. With a mechanical pressure gauge.

Forget the thicker oil.

More importantly, what brand of oil filter is on there now?

Not quite bottom of the barrel, but a kissing cousin to it. Put a Napa Silver or Napa Gold filter on it and see what happens. You won't lose hardly any oil since those crappo filters don't hold any overnight anyway.
