my name is Jeremy Morton, I wanted to introduce myself and say thank you for the help. I pulled my trailer with a 2600lb ditch witch sk650 on it the other day. The damn Jeep pulled it with no issues. That means a lot to me. I still do t know your name so I will leave it at THANK YOU CRUISER!!!

I wouldn’t of been so persistent if I didn’t have someone to inquire to. I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge. I’m finding that there are less people willing to simply help these days. Thank you.
may I ask how you feel about cavfab? I was about to order their steering for the xj but wanted to get your opinion first. I’m about to take a trip and wanted to install it with all of the new steering/brake components before the trip.

No worries. They make a solid otk steering.
hey I was driving yesterday and the Jeep wouldn’t shift into third I believe. Do you think my tps is damaged from adjusting it incorrectly the first few times?

I checked it today and it was at .81 when it should of been at .83. So I readjusted it and it still did it. It stretched out second and it will go into third but then out of no where it will rev and not accelerate. So I will put it in 2-3 and it will work. Once I reduce my speed it will shift back into third. It is intermittent.

Read the adjustment procedure again. There's one for engine and one for trans. One side of the TPS can be bad and the other good.TPS ADJUSTMENT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ISSUES
Renix automatic transmission-equipped XJs and MJs have a TPS with two connectors. There is a flat three-wire connector, same as the manual transmission vehicles have, and it is tested the same as outlined above—FOR ALL ENGINE MANAGEMENT RELATED ISSUES.
However, the automatic TPS also has a square four-wire connector, clearly embossed with the letters A,B,C, and D. It only uses three wires and provides information to the Transmission Control Module. THIS SQUARE FOUR WIRE CONNECTOR IS USED FOR TRANSMISSION/SHIFTING RELATED ISSUES ONLY.

I adjusted the trans side and took it for a test drive. It shifted into second a lot smoother but at some point around 45mph it slipped out of gear and revved. So I coast until it reduces speed then shift it down to 3rd and at about 25-30mph it catches. It will do this then run fine after that until I shut it off. Once I start it back up it will go through the same process. It makes me think there is air in a line?
So I was doing some reading and came across an article where someone had the wrong length dipstick, so I ran out side and compared it to my spare transmissions dipstick and realized my spare was in better shape. The original one was bent to **** in multiple spots. So I used the better one of the two and realized I was shy a decent amount. So I topped it off and it’s back to normal, thank you once again cruiser.
