What years were Renix Era XJ vehicles built?

Did any other Jeep models get the Renix treatment?

They can be supper reliable. Go years and years with no issues. I got so complacent.....then I finely looked at my plugs one day, (last year) .55 !!

OK, guess there IS maintenance

They're pretty reliable and everything on them can be tested with a meter.

Which is good, because they are PRE OBD, which means there are no codes to help you isolate faults.

It just takes a while to "get to know" them!

I had an 88 which I cut my Renix teeth on.

Renix is the name of the fuel injection system. It was a combined effort of RENault who owned 46% of Jeep at the time, and BendIX, a large woeldwide automotive supplier.

TJWalker and Flintstone are correct. They're fine. I also cut my teeth on these as I was Service Manager and shop foreman at the local dealership for 12 years, including the time when Renix was introduced in 1987. Quite a learning experience and BTW, all my Jeeps are Renix era.....
