sometimes its the clockspring. I myself have an airbag light that goes on and off, But my horn and the like still works. press your horn when its illuminated, does it work?

Clockspring is on its way out. Could be anywhere from days, weeks to years before it finally fails. When your horn and cruise control no longer work it has finally failed all the way. Mine has been out for years and every now and then the light will go out for a few days but horn and cruise still dont work. I wheel the hell outta my jeep so to be honest no airbags is just fine with me. Would hate to hit the hell outta something and set off the airbags. No horn isn't an issue either, got a air horn hooked up to the OBA compressor

Light came on and off a few times during drive today.
I also notice Cruise Control button needs to be clicked several times before light comes on.

Yup your clock spring is going. Not a terrible hard repair, even a noob like me was able to do it

One thing that it seems nobody seems to mention.
Make sure the tires are straight when you remove the old clockspring.
And if you go the boneyard route for parts make sure the tires are straight on the donor vehicle too.
This is so the clockspring is centered.
