So, my pump is no longer holding pressure. I was looking to replace it with a Bosch 67658 module, but at $300 bucks I'd like a lesser alternative. Has anyone rebuilt there pump using BOSCH 69316 pump only, $74?
Or is more wise to buy a complete module like Delphi FG1076 for $125?
Plenty of people take out the pump (the little silver cylinder) and just replace it. If your fuel guage isn't messed up I'd say just replace the pump itself BUT remove it first and figure out how your electrical connections are, the OEM sending unit is easy to replace the pump the deplhi unit I have the pump uses different electrical connections and it is not easy to replace the pump. I have attached pictures of how pump attaches in my 90 sending unit. Also might be a good idea to replace that little piece of fuel hose while you are in there. Lastly the unit is a pain to get back in sometimes because of the o ring on top of the pump (ask me how I know). Top Bottom
My brother decided to mount a Summit Racing Electric pump outside the tank on his old Chevy truck and it pulls fuel thru the bad pump inside the tank. Just an option. It's supplying enough fuel for a 350 V8 with TBI.
