I have a 98 xj sport.Having problems with it bogging out and cutting out, I have the usual under 1/4 tank of gas andturning it almost shuts off, I have weak fuel pressure at the rail. Jeep has 153k on it. Im not sure if previous owner changed the FP , It does say fuel service was done at 149k, but who the hell knows.
So should I buy a replacement pump/filter/gaskets? Or should I spend the 200 plus on a brand new Bosch assembly??

I would change out the fuel pump itself if your fuel sending unit is working properly. However it is alot easier to replace the entire assembly. I just replaced the entire assembly on my 95 but the fuel sending unit was bad.
Wait, does the 98 have the filter and regulator in the tank? You might want to check them also while you have them out... I have no experience with those new style pumps.
If you have the filter and regulator with the pump I would probably replace the entire assembly to be sure.
Thx-Ace

try www.rockauto.com , $184.00 for a Carter fuel pump assembly, the same brand the factory used when they built your Jeep.

check out Amazon for comparing parts which are available on RockAuto.
Not all but quite a few are less on Amazon.
In the past I just searched Amazon and really did not even come close to RockAuto.Nor was able to see what RA offered.
But recently I found typing in the brand name followed with part number I was much more successful. "Bosch 67658"
Example
RA Bosch 67658 $316.79
Amazon Same # $248.82 (Prime, free shipping 2 day if a member)

Carter is the original equipment fuel pump supplier for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep, so you know they're built to Chrysler Corp specs.
