Default Rear Window Wiper Switch - Bulb Replacement

All - I've been reading through the various threads about replacing the light bulb inside the rear wiper switch on my 1997 Cherokee Sport. It appears the bulb is replaceable, but hard to find.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to remove the switch from the dash. Does it just pop out of the housing its contained in with some soft prying or do I need to remove the center counsel first?

Thanks for your help!

You need to remove the dash bezel and panel the switch is mounted in.

You should see clips on the back side of the panel that'll release the switch.

How do you remove the bezel on the dash - I've read that you just push it up towards the front windshield and it will come loose. Do I need to pry anything or just some old fashion elbow grease will work?

Thanks. Still working through this. Does anyone know what the bulb is? I've tried to order it online, but never heard back from the retailer.

I see it.. you just unscrew it and it drops out. Now.... finding that bulb is going to be another issue...

Interesting!!! That's the same bulb used for the shift indicators of my 2000 Tundra. I replaced the incandescent bulbs with LEDs from superbrightleds.com

I'd be happy with the old incandescent ones.... no luck finding them though.
