How do you tell a 8.25 from a 35?

The bottom of the D35 center section is round and the 8.25 has a flet bottom.

Thanks alot for the reply and the pic's.
Here's the story; I need a rear end. The 8.25 is what I have. Do you think I should upgrade to a different rear end or is the 8.25 a good axle?
I will be installing a locker and 3:73 gears.

An upgrade would be to either a D44,which is hard to find,or a ford 8.8 which would need to be fitted. Unless you plan on huge tires, like 33s or bigger an some serious off road use,the 8.25 will do fine

I have not installed one before, but I would imagine they are just fine. Are you familiar with installing lockers and gears?

make sure to get another 29 spline rear and as for lockers you could buy an ausie or something similar and easily do it you rself they just replace the spidergear and dont require to setup the gears again

What do you think of the Powertrax?
Is the 8.25 a limited slip?
