A very Rough way to get the approximate gear ratio is to get under the vehicle with the rear wheels jacked off the ground (jack stands) Mark the drive shaft with a piece of chalk, have a buddy mark a line on the tire and turn the wheel one revolution. You count the number of turns of the drive shaft that complete one revolution of the wheel. You can roughly estimate your gear ratio from the results. (ex. one turn of the wheel equals approximately three and three quarter turns of drive shaft. 3.73ratio!)
