How can you tell rear end ratio someone has removed tagI know it is a dana other than that ??????????

 

pop diff cover and count.

$20 says you have 3.55 if its stock and auto

$20 says you have 3.07 if its stock and manual

 

This thing sounds like a sawmill with a broke blade is the dana the only swap or will they all bolt in it is a posi trac

 

$10 says you 4.10 if it is a 4 cylinder

 

$.001 if its .356

 

Dont forget the factory tow package with 3.73. lol I got 20 bucks on that.

 

I think it has the tow package it has a receiver hitch and wires looks factory, will all the brands interchange as long as it is the same ratio

 

A very Rough way to get the approximate gear ratio is to get under the vehicle with the rear wheels jacked off the ground (jack stands) Mark the drive shaft with a piece of chalk, have a buddy mark a line on the tire and turn the wheel one revolution. You count the number of turns of the drive shaft that complete one revolution of the wheel. You can roughly estimate your gear ratio from the results. (ex. one turn of the wheel equals approximately three and three quarter turns of drive shaft. 3.73ratio!)
