Rear drivers side door won't open, issue with outside button
Hey guys, I have a problem with my rear driver side door not opening from the outside, can anyone tell me how to fix this issue?
The main thing about it, is I know its not a problem with that hex bolt you tighten (the bolt through the hole by the child lock)
It has something to do directly with the button on the outside, no click to the button; you can press it wayy down and it does nothing...
Also my door DOES open from the inside

I just fixed mine. It gets so gunked up in there that the mechanism won't work. Lots of PB Blaster, liquid wrench, or WD-40 into the mechanism will free it up. Helps to pop the inside panel away and really get in there.

Uhhh.. .. Lol.. Does it open from the inside? Theres a cable/rope that connects to the inside handle.... Maybe the snap was a piece of plastic giving, or maybe a spring. Sorry I can't help

Sorry to interrupt but I just went through the same thing. My passenger side rear door opened from the inside but not the outside. Turns out that the short rod from the latch to the outside handle was disconnected. There are 2 rods hooked to the latch, a long one goes to the inside handle and a short one goes to the outside handle.
And was you're outside push button resistance free when it was broken?
I have almost no resistance on mine, I just push it with ease all the way till it looks like I could push it inside the door.

There was almost no resistance on mine either. There are 3 things that give you the resistance. There is a spring inside the push button, another spring holding the tab that the push button pushes and the main resistance is from the latch mechanism. If the short rod isn't attached, that explains the lack of resistance in the push ****.
If you take off the inside door panel you can see the latch mechanism(if you look in on an angle with a flashlight). The short rod attaches to a small tab at the handle and to another spot on the back side of the latch itself with plastic clips. I'm kinda busy today but I will try to get some pics of how to unhook everything in order to remove the door panel as well as the latch rods and where and how they are attached. Will try to get the pics later today but it won't be till after 7 or 8 pm.

Well I ended up figuring it out actually, so its all good now...
Turns out there is this brass piece that holds the push button and its spring inside the door...Well there is a screw on one side, the side that is more assessable, but on the other there is just this 'C' shaped black plastic deal. But basically you have to slide this little tabbed part of the brass into that, and then put the screw on the other side so its secure..
I guess the screw on mine got loose enough to where the brass piece slipped out of the plastic clip, and left a button with a tension-less spring..

Ok, I guess not..
Today I went to open my door, after it had opened fine like 15 times, and it didn't open; not only that, but it won't open from the inside now either
Kinda feels like the latch mechanism is sticking/stuck..
Any other ideas??

Ok guys, I'm gonna do a writeup (with pics) on how to fix the doors when these problems occur but right now it's 1:30 am and raining and I don't have a shop. Rain is supposed to stop for the next few days so I'll start in the morning and have it ready for late afternoon.
