I have always used the epoxy with kit with success, you might try the five minute epoxy,I have bought it at Wal-mart and auto parts.

Draw your spot on outside. Use the cleaner and install the metal retainer and let sit for 24hrs then install mirror and it will work

Use the kit from wally world. Use a razor to scrape the old glue from the windshield, use alcohol to clean the area, follow the instructions on the kit. Been doing that way for years. Make sure that the windshield and the little metal "tab" are CLEAN and free of ANY old glue.

You are removing the mounting metal tab from the mirror before gluing it right?

U need windsheild adhesive, the same that is used to glue the windsheild to the frame.

Well I got one more kit and going to clean the button with some gas to asure all residue it gone and also clean the windshield again. If that doesn't work I'll use fantics suggestion and get some of that adhesive.

Beleive me, i've tried every kind of **** to keep that mirror in place, i waited for days to dry before installing, no way, it will last a week or a month and as soon as you hit a hole or do some wheeling it will fall off. When i changed my windsheild the guys told me that the only thing that will work is that adhesive, and it worked.

I guess I could take it to an auto glass shop and have them put the sucker back on.. Yes I can be lazy at times..

Also have never had issues with the autoparts store kits.

OKC, when i remounted my mirror i raised the button as the mirror seemed to partially block my vision. Much better now...

My button is about 1.5-2 inches from the headliner. I can have my mirror all the way up almost touching the headliner.

I'll post a pic in the am for ya.

ya know, auto glass shops do this for free eh...

takes about 5 minutes, and no need to wait 24 hours to use your mirror.
