Amatuers! Why rattle can it when rustoleum in the quarts is WAY cheaper and more durable!
Roll it on man! Thin out your alkyd paint till it's like milk. Use a 4 inch high density roller and get rollin! Wet sanding with 600 grit every 3 coats. Then 800 grit.. Then 1500 then 2000. 18 coats in total. Whee!
The weapons.. Valspar industrial enamel. $10 a quart. Paint thinner and rollers. Beer optional.. Weather here was 20* F. Ran the garage to 65*.
Here is my '92. All the rust fixed, dents removed, sanded, taped and wiped down ready for the first coat of "OSHA Safety Yellow"!
I think this was the 4th coat.. "What have I done to my poor XJ?"
Simply roll it on and wait for the bubbles to pop!
POP! All gone and smoooth..
Here is the 7th coat.. Getting very interesting now... Shiny too.
Can almost read the newspaper in that.. Yep, it's dry and ready for another coat..
Which brings us up to the 11th coat from 4 days ago.. Shiny and deep.
Will post more as I get time this weekend. It's turning out GREAT.
I will Herculine my rockers black, the flares are black satin and the bumpers are black. Should look awesome when I get it done. Cant wait. I miss driving my '92.

did the bottom half on my rig..pretty flat but its covering up all the scratches and if it scratches through, cover the surrounding, spray on another coat and get er muddy so it all matches again!

Heh. I cleaned the garage a few days ago too. The bikes are all fixed now while waiting for the paint to dry.
I found the wally-world cart a few weeks ago all the way across town. I was gonna return it to them, but I think my welder would like a new cart instead.
