In Round Rock TX and yes we had over 100 days of 100 plus degree weather, only go to the offload parks 2 or 3 times a year.. This one is on the street 95% of the time..

With regard to buying local, if there's a warranty issue, it can be handled quickly.

would this be a suitable replacement? It's from Advance auto parts

They'll have to ship it to me, but I can deal with the local store if any issues arise..

Looks like I can get the parts Rad (2 row), Waterpump, T stat housing, top hose, heater hose, both gaskets for $231 delivered...

Mech on my local gun forum that will do the work for $150-$175 ($50 hr) figuring 3-3.5 hrs his estimate.

I think that's a good price for my sanity...

FWIW, a 1 row OE style aluminum core rad can be bought locally for +/-$100. OE style is a very wide 1.25" single row aluminum core. A 1.5" wide 2 row core copper/brass has no more coolant capacity than than a 1.25" wide single row. There's no extra coolant between those 2 rows.

I replaced mine w oem and wheel pretty often. I havnt had any issues unless i get it VERY dirty w debris from mud. When that happens, i get my sprayer out of the back and hit it with water. Again i emphasize it has to get VERY dirty for me to have to do that. Never happens under normal operating conditions.
