For plugs I ran NGK's when I had mine. Seemed to do well with those. I had also tried those bosch platiums but didn't seem that much of a different for the cost.

AC makes decent one's too. Plugs for the most part don't cost all that much, so pick a set you like and try them for 3months and see how you like them. Do a bench mark test with mpg or what ever so you have something to compare them to. Also you may want to change your wire's too if that has been a while.

I've been running the mid-range wires from auto zone and Bosh Platinum plugs. Been keeping my 92 and 99 running great

When I got my Jeep I replace the plugs, put NGK's in and they seem to do the job fine.

I also got a new distributor cap, rotor and replaced all wires as well. Don't know the brand, just got a set from Autozone. It's not that expensive. This stuff wears out over time and slowly but surely your ignition gets worse and worse. Sometimes you get all these weird and difficult to diagnose problems with engine not running smoothly etc. etc.

So over the years whenever I buy another old car I've taken to replacing this whole little lot, sparks, wires, cap, rotor as standard.
