Pre 97 gas tank skid
I have a friend selling his 96 sport and it has the gas tank skid plate on it.im interested in buying it off of him. Will that skid fit 97+ with little or no modification? I have a factory hitch on my 99, would i have to remove it? Also how much should i offer him for it?

The skid will fit with a little mod. I'm in the middle of fitting one to my '97. The rear edge will need bending down, with the side welds cut. I'm also going to pack the fixing bolts 1/4" as the skid seems to pull up on my tank slightly.
As for the hitch, can't help you.

if he is a friend he should let you take it, but other than that 5-10 bucks is more than enough

here it is, i forgot i did a crappy right up on it but check the link at the bottom
I had a buddy grab a gastank skid from the junk yard while he was there pre 97 though they charged him 5 bucks i gave him a 10 cause he brought it to me
gota modify it to work
in this pic you see were it bends up
you gota bend that almost straight
but first and a crappy pic you got to break this weld and bend thises little ears out straight
