Alright ive done many searches on what it could be but i cant find a definitive answer. From somewhere in my front drivers side there is a popping or clunking when i turn or go over bumps. I have found that out on a rocky trail with a decent incline at low speeds it happens much more (without turning or anything). Its almost like the weight of the jeep is being released and then slammed down on whatever the problem is. i need new ball joints as they have some upward play but would they cause these noises? thanks.

Not sure if you found the problem, but I had a similar issue that I just fixed. My sway bar link bushings were shot. Any time I turned or went over a bump, it would make a popping noise. Have a buddy rock the body of your Jeep back and forth while you inspect underneath.
My swaybar mount bushings were bad, caused a clunk in the front end. You should also check your front axleshaft joints since it's occurring when you turn.
If a ball joint is bad, then it's probably time to replace all of them and possibly the tie rod ends as well.
