Please help. What is this?
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what this module is. It has ef-8933 on it. It is located on the driver's side nest to the air box on the Fender. It looks like a part of the air box is supposed to hook up to it. 89 jeep cherokee 2wd base 4.0

I'm going to look up some diagrams. The PO has done some pretty crazy stuff. Including this egr deal. Been replacing zip ties that he thought were okay instead of his clamps

Zat n' 88? Like said it should run OK without the EGR, but you want it hooked up to smog/be legal. There are some diagrams in my sig, and a link to Cruisers tips. Sensor grounds, check/clean and C-101 connector cleaning/bypass would be high on my list if I were you. Then there is this:
There is a brittle little tube. It comes out of a rubber plug, low on the engine side of the throttle body. It runs back to the firewall, then up to your MAP sensor sort of high up there near center on the firewall. CRUCIAL!! The MAP will tell the ECU to dump fuel with less/no vacuum. Any crack or blockage and it will not run right.

Here in north Carolina emissions are no big deal. It's old enough not to have to get tested. I've just noticed that the idling had been rough since I got it. Hopefully I'll have time to look at it today or tomorrow.

This should Renix Vacuum Harnesses
The vacuum harness that attaches to the front of the valve cover and includes the grommet/fitting, and is called the front harness, is Napa part number BK 715-1367
The vacuum harness that is closest to the air cleaner, EGR etc, and is called the rear harness, is Napa part number BK-715-1366.
The tube from the rear of the valve cover to the intake manifold is part number 715-1365 and comes with the valve cover grommet.

I went to pick up the new valve today. Turns out they shipped one that had been installed already. Burned metal and everything. Now they have to ship one from Georgia. Two more days :/
