passive alarm not allowing jeep to start
very easy to put the dizzy in one tooth (or more) out...how sure are you about that ?
source of dizzy ?..cam sensor maybe dead from box
'96 dont have an immobiliser in Oz, dont know about USA
a bag of issues there
The PCM provides ground for the spark (and fuel injectors)
There is 2 big studs on engine block that earth heaps of things, including PCM. They must be perfect
have you got 12V going to the Dizzy ?
are the injectors cycling, or do you just have fuel pressure ?
check & fix any bad wires
re-fit original dizzy to see if it runs, ..is it an el-cheapo "new" distributor" ?

not even owning a multimeter is ominous, but hopefully you can use one
add the year of your XJ to your profile
and download the free FSM from cruiser54 on this site
so my ob1 reader is showing 12,11,22,42,55 think it vould be a crank shaft or camshaft positioner
presumably your '96 is OBD2..does it have an OBD2 connector near your knee, or an obd1 connector in the engine bay ?
