are you talking about a factory alarm sys? Do you have factory keyless entry? otherwise it is aftermarket, best answer is to remove if it is not working correctly
Good luck!

Is it the Mopar EVS alarm? I have this alarm and need to use the unlock button on the remote to allow the engine to start.

lock all the doors with the key, then unlock the pass side with the key first then the drivers side with the key. that is how to get the factory alarm to behave

I don't have the remote. I tryed to lock and then unlock all the doors and it still doesn't work. could the relay be causing the problem.

Let me start by saying I love my jeep cherokee. I have owned 3 so far, but this one is the most problomatic one I have ever owned. I try to start it and it will turn on for 2 secs and then turn off wtf is goin on. I am lead to believe it is the alarm but I am not sure

PLEASE HELP

Did you do the lock unlock procedure exactly as thundaluvin suggested?
