Default The old HVAC vacuum problem again

I have a 2001 XJ cherokee Sport with A/C. As many have mentioned before air only comes out the defrost not front vents. The problem was a line from the cruise control down to the vacuum ball is cracked from battery acid. I know I can fix it by using a spice in the line. I prefer just to replace the whole line if possible but have been unable to come up with a part number for the assembly. In a post by ccken in 12/2016 ( https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/hva...uestion-31615/) he posted a figure 14-1010 that listed part numbers for the assembly. The listing shows part number 55037188 for my vehicle but searching the internet for the item from Chrysler says it wont fit. Does anyone know if the part is available and what is a good number for it

The pic CCKen posted was for the 94-96 XJ.

Here's the part list for your 2001.

https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/part...d_control.html

The diagram looks the same. Can't say if the earlier part will fit. It appears that the vacuum reservoir is different (different part numbers) which may explain why the vac line is different. Check to see if your vacuum reservoir is round (like a ball) or oblong (like in the diagram).

I noted that the other vac lines (#10 and #6) have the same P/N.

Unfortunately the vacuum line #7 in diagram is not available anymore so I slipped a piece of rubber tubing over the plastic line where it was eaten through by battery acid.
Not my desired choice but it appears there is no new lines to be had.

That's all I did with mine where there was a gap. The ones that simply broke or cracked I used some heat shrink tubing.

Vacuum hose for the win. It's all I've ever done.
