Default OK, another water ?. Bare with me

I have a 2000 Sport that I've had problems with water leaks. Must be an option! Anyhow, I worked on this issue all last summer installing new windshield, plugging any holes in the firewall, near fan cowling, door seals and so on. I've run a water hose full force over the windshield, air intake grill and sun roof. It doesn't leak. OK so it rains, a real dump of water and yep you guessed it, a leak. I have rubber mats the kind that are molded to the floor well. Well on the passenger side there was some water that appeared to have dripped from behind the glove box onto the floor mat. I mean you could even see the mark where the water began and then ran down the mat. The "mark" was below the rear of the glove box. Looking in the whole area under the dash and glove box......no where could I find a wet area where the water originated. Ideas? Thanks

Did it follow your radio antenna cable in?

Oops, I didn't. If that is the source of the water how to I fix? Where does the antenna cable enter the the Jeep? How do I get to the entry point?

I'm not exactly sure, lol. That's all I could think of that penetrates the interior that you haven't already checked. Windshield, blower housing, cowl vents are the usual suspects.

No chance it came off of your shoes, is there? You'd laugh if I told you how much time I spent chasing a "water leak" on my rubber floor mat until It finally dawned on me that my shoes were wet when I climbed in. I couldn't find that sucker anywhere!

Outside air vent is a possibility. The blower draws in fresh air from under the cowling on the passenger side. It's very possible that the seal has gone around that duct. Yank off your wiper arms and its only a few screws to get te cowl panels off

I know the feeling, I've read hundreds of articles and looked all over and can't find the same leak I have on my 2000 XJ, today it rain hard and I had to vacuum about a qt of water from my passenger side floor. I haven't checked the antenna cable but the grommet looks fine, besides I honestly don't think all that water can be coming inn from the antenna. Hopefully some one on this forum has ideas other than a/c drain or evaporator core like is usually suggested.

Good luck

AC drain clogged? Mine was, caused a huge backup in the AC and pooled in the passenger footwell. The drain is a 90degree rubber elbow pipe coming out of the firewall, right above the passenger "frame" rail. I pulled mine off the nipple and found mud wasps made a nest, simple coat hanger poker fixed it.

Had the same problem, it was coming from around the blower motor inside the engine bay, just sealed it from the engine bay and problem was solved
