Default Oil pump going out possibly?

I ha e a kind of odd problem going on at start my oil pressure is reading at 40 at idle and 60 with throttle the weird part is when the engines hot at 210 for about 10 minutes while driving the temperature starts creeping up to 220 ish and oil pressure goes down to 20 at idle and 40 with throttle and I hear a lifter start ticking ONLY when hot it's never done it whole cold or before it starts getting hot alot of people told me to switch to Rotella t6 5w 40 and call it good but I'm looking for other opinions on maybe something else going on?

40 psi at idle is excellent 20 psi isn't bad either, 10 psi is about the minimum you want at idle.

Wish I could get 20 at an idle with my new engine. Probably should have miced the crank journals to make sure the previous builder put in the correct bearings for this crank. I was in a hurry to go roll it guess...

20 hot idle? you are good man...

More or less what worries me is why the lifters tick at hot idle? And it seems to get hot and stay at about 220 ish

OK 220 ish is a concern. Should be no more than 210-212 max as a norm... So this temp would indeed lower your oil pressure a lot. So it looks like you might have an overheating issue rather than an oil pressure issue?

And yes when the oil gets hot and thin it will tick.

Agreed with Bugout... that's what it sounds like to me too.

and also, they all normally run a bit different for pressure it seems.
At idle when up to temp on mine, she'll sit at about 40-45psi... then with throttle on rollin' down the road she sits at about 55-60ish.
But my cooling system is currently working as it should and usually sits at 208-210 on a really warm day. I've never seen mine go above 212 so far.

How long since the last oil change?

What oil was used and which brand filter.

I agree with the other Arizona boys. You have a cooling system issue.

Last oil change about 1000 miles ago if that ran 10w 30 vr1 valvoline in it with a wix filter as always now that this whole problems shown up I'm going to change it again here soon and put Rotella t6 5w 40 in it with a wix filter what could be the overheating though I mean I've about done everything to this thing the only thing I can think of as an emergency fix driving from Arizona to Michigan I had to change my fan clutch out with a junkyard one ? Everything else has always been bought at O'Reilly auto parts brand new thermostat water pump I haven't changed Radiator? I just recently put a new cap on both the Radiator and overflow about a week ago?
