Default Oil PSI

Alright fellas I have a 2001 XJ sport and my oil psi is good when I crank it up right around 50. Whenever I drive 20+ miles my idle psi drops to 25-30. Is this too low? I just put a new pressure sending unit in. I haven't noticed the oil psi drop that much at idle. Is this correct? Thanks!

Your PSI sounds right about where it should be. How many miles on the engine?

It sounds good. right within range.

Also if it is the stock gauge it is not always perfect..

Mine has 265K on it, cold it will be 70 ish psi, warm 30 ish. I am going to go down to 0W30 next oil change to help with cold oil pressure. If that doesn't help down to 5W20.

It only has 107k that's the thing. When I drive and when I first crank up it's around 50-60 psi, but when I drive it drops down. I think the last oil change I had the guy put 10w30 in it. I'm debating adding some Lucas. Is it worth a shot.
