Low oil pressure will not be caused by a valve cover leak or oil cap. Why don't you verify the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge?
What brand of oil filter is on it?
And perhaps you need to read this:

STP filters are about as junky as Fram. Do yourself a favor and just replace the filter with a Wix Or Napa. Still, check the pressure with a gauge though.

Thank you for the advice. Now I went to the mechanic and he stated that the oil pressure is fine. But while he took it for a test drive the speedometer was all over the place and the temperature went all haywire. He checked the temp and was normal and he stated he wasn't going fast at all. So there might be something up with the dash? Any thoughts? Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks much!

Yeah he did. To prove it to me he hooked it back up to show me what he was talking about. Now I'm thinking that the oil pump screen is backed up. From what I understand is that thing can get filled up with sludge. Also when I first got the Cherokee the oil was like a solidified diarrhea, sorry but that's what it looked like. Now when I removed the gasket and put the new back on there was crap all over the pan. I never even thought about the oil pump screen. Thoughts? Again thank you all for your help/advice. I really appreciate it!
