Can be a pain, but easier if you are lifted.

Not very hard at all. Especially if you have a lift. If you have basic hand tools and common sense it is cake. Make sure you get the rubber 1 piece gasket for the oil pan and put RTV in the corners as required. Less chance of leaks.

No, motor stays in. The hardest part is going to be fenagiling it out of where it meets the backing plate for the bellhousing.

Make sure you have long sockets too, IIRC theres 1 or 2 studs as well as the bolts.

Motor stays, I'd suggest draining the oil first though.

I'd ballpark no more then 2 billable labor hours. So 2 x whatever the shop rate is.

My oil pan gasket is leaking and I need to swap it out. My local shop (who charges $35 an hour) says $140 and thats with me providing the part. Apparently you need to put the frame on something and disconnect a lot of the front suspension to get the pan out. Im contemplating trying it and getting screwed or just paying.

I think the pan itself is like $100-$150, plus $50 for the gasket plus the labor. And honestly, Im a believer that if youre taking it off, you mine as well swap the pump and replace the rear main. No sense in having to pay for another gasket and labor in a year when you see the rear main leaking or the pump going out.
