Default Oil Loss From PVC and...

Hi, I was smelling a burning smell and realized that I have oil coming out of my pvc and the other vent/valve on the valve cover, and running down the block and burning on the exhuast. ( the vent runs into the air box) Does anybody know how to fix this? They are both really loose in the valve cover, but I don't know if that is from age or if this is normal. My engine is the 4 banger (2.5L) if the helps any.. Thanks.

You need to get new grommets for the valve covers the new elbows, and new lines.

hey man... x2 new pcv and grommets/tubing from dealer - not too expensive and very well worth the new parts in the long run .... meanwhile, spray some tb cleaner/seafoam gently into the tube ends to clean out the gunk - it'll keep you moving until you get the new parts in .... clean pcv is just good habit for the life of your engine and gas mileage.... good luck!

If you want to go all-out… after you’ve replaced your PCV components do a compression check too. The PCV valve relieves blow-by pressure built up in the crankcase, so excessive blowby = excessive PCV pressure.
