All this talk about oil I decided I'd change mine ahead of due time. I decided to try Chevron Delo 15w-40. It's pretty cheap at Walmart...$12/Gallon. Picked up two bottles of the Super Tech version so I Had enough for the OC. Decided to do a drain and fill on the trans while I was at it so I picked up a gallon of Super Tech DexronIII compatible trans fluid.
Ya know you tell yourself the fluid looks clean and red on the dipstick but when you see it pouring out of the hole into the pan it looks brown and dirtier then you think.

The Delo quited the tapping/knocking down noticeably plus it's hot here now so a 40w oil won't hurt. Went with a vanilla Purolator filter...$3.70 at WallyWorld.
Do you guys run the 15w-40 year round in colder regions?

The container and the filter are much prettier colors than all the others.

No. I use it in the summer and switch to a 5W30 in the winter. (Wisconsin).

A K&N is literally a Mobil1 with a nut on the top. Dissection shows this.

Excellent filters but unless you can demonstrate your oil isn't being diluted with gasoline they're not worth the money for a 4.0 (you can filter out soot and metal but you can't filter out gas).

Don't get your hopes up for 15k OCIs lol

That's basically why I feel expensive oils like synthetics are a waste of money on a 4.0. I'm going to change the oil at 3-4K anyway.
