Default Oil charged air filter

Hi all,
Getting my 95 Cherokee ready for a trip down through Baja. Doing a tune up right now. Seeing as its so dry and dusty, think it is worth the extra coin for the oil charged air filter?
Thanks ahead of time ,
Ozalid

You mean like a K&N filter? If you are in dusty conditions a paper filter works better than a K&N style filter.

I was thinking oil traps more particles ? Why do you feel dry is better...??
Thank you for your reply..

Oil will flow more but paper media will catch more dust.

I would go with one of those DryFlow filters, but I have a short-ram intake so I can just use universal round ones, not sure if they make a specific one for XJ's.

Best bet is to pick up the cheapest paper filters you can, knock the sand out of them and if they look really clogged up just toss them out. You can get them for like $3 each on RockAuto

You plan on cleaning that filter often? I would rather a paper filter I can bang off a time or two and if need just swap out with another cheap filter.
