Engine is hemorrhaging oil from oil filter area, bad O-ring or filter?
Hey everyone! First post here, I picked up a 2000 Cherokee Sport with the 4.0 liter earlier this week and loving it so far.
Here's the thing: I just did an oil change earlier on today and everything went fine until I started it up, which is when I noticed oil pouring out from under the jeep. When I say pouring, I mean like 3 quarts in a couple minutes.
I look under the hood and it looks like it was coming out from around the oil filter so I tightened it up, hit myself on the head, and went to buy some more oil. Once again, it's absolutely pouring out of that area, so much so that I couldn't even pinpoint it.
So here's the deal, could it be the o-rings that seal the adapter to the block causing it to leak like that? It didn't leak there before I changed the oil, and I doubt it could go from sealed up well to pouring out so quickly, but I'd like to be sure before I call up NAPA and scream at them.

You have the right filter, gasket matches the old one? Did you break the oil pressure sender? (it happens)
If the filter is sealing correctly, the sender is intact and the adapter isn't loose, that leaves the o-rings.
