On and off Ticking
Ok here is a video that kinda shows what im experiencing.
It doesnt necessarily start ticking when I do different things, it just ticks in an on and off kinda way.
It gets more noticeable with acceleration but in all honesty sometimes I accelerate and it doesnt tick.
I notice it alot more on deceleration vs. acceleration but all around it is barely heard in the cab of the jeep.
*NOTE*
I added seafoam to the brake booster, and oil and let it run for maybe 20 minutes, and drove around 5 miles with the seamfoam in. IT DID DO THIS BEFORE, however it is alittle more apparent now....or maybe im crazy
Also the seam foam cleared up the white smoke out of the tail pipe great, while making the jeep idle alot smoother and accelerate alot smoother too. Definently not snake oil!

see I hear people say not to stress lifter tick and In my mind there was more then just lifter tick going on.....Im used to when lifters start ticking prepare to rebuild because before you know it you have a valve in your piston head.
So I could possibly just ignore it run alittle heavier weight oil and throw some lifter restorative oil of some kind and be good for a good while? jeep has 144k right now.

My 90 has 431,000 has had the tick since I bought it at 248,000. MMO usually quiets it up and a decent 5 or 10 thirty weight.

Notice it more on deceleration, huh? Makes it sound like drivetrain, not valvetrain. Are your torque converter bolts loose? I couldn't watch the video, so i couldn't listen to it to know if it was in the top or bottom end.

Well it doesnt sound as god awful as others that have loose torque converter bolts, im going to hopefully take it in to the local hobby body shop on base and swap out the trans filter, gasket, do an oil change and I guess take a look at that. It crossed my mind, ill be honest.
Previous owner said he replaced the rod bearings so I would hope it wasnt like he did it to see if he could and turns out he cant kinda thing............
I just figured if it was the torque converter it'd be louder, and much more constant, I really only notice it when the hood is popped.
