NSS Starting Issues
Hey everyone, just went to start my jeep the other day and it wouldnt, threw it in nuetral and started right up. Havent had the problem for a few days and it did it again. I am sure its the neutral safety switch, but where abouts is it located? I read somewhere its on the left side of the tranny, And can i simply try cleaning it before going and buying a new part? Thanks for the help!

A shop cleaned my NSS a couple months ago, but it has recently started not wanting to start unless it hits juuussssst the right spot in either P or N, but only after starting up just fine, driving a short distance, & then trying to restart.
Could it really be that gummed up again so soon, or do I just need to replace it. Also, can it be just a slight bit out of alignment?
Again, initial startup is always fine but attempting to restart after driving a short distance is when I have to slowly move the shift lever through P & N to hit the sweet spot.
BTW, today it won't crank at all.

By adjusting, do you mean loosening the retaining bolt & repositioning the NSS? If so, I tried that. Since it hasn't been long that it was cleaned, I went ahead & bought a new one at AutoZone for $183.
