Tried searching but nothing really helped me all that much. The adjustment bolt head snapped off, I figured id still be able to remove the switch and go from there with extraction but the kicker is, the switch has some free play back and forth but I just cant seem to get that sucker off, do you have to rotate the switch a bit to remove it from the shaft? Or are they naturally just a PIA to remove? Any tips or advice is appreciated!

I had mine break off and also could not remove it possibly due to corrosion at the bolt shaft to NSS housing. When I get some spare time I plan on welding a nut to what's left of the bolt and trying again.

cant weld a bolt with the switch in on my case unfortunately, when the head snapped it look about 1/4 inch of thread with it, the stud is recessed into the switch housing, not broken off right at the trans

Tack the stud until it is built back up. Then weld in the nut. The heat should help free it up.

You need to loosen the big nut on the shaft to get the NSS off the shaft. Unfortunately, it likes to seize and get stuck on the shaft and the challenge is getting it off without breaking anything. Googling on NSS cleaning will pop up a number of how-to videos with tricks on getting the NSS off. Once you have it off, disassemble (in a plastic bag preferably to catch any flying parts) and clean and re-grease with silicon grease.

so I take it you dont have to rotate the whole switch to line up the shaft and housing to pull it off?

No. That nut clamps the internal rotation part of the switch onto the shaft, kinda like the collet nut on a dremel. Be careful prying behind the switch as the backside is plastic.

I seem to recall have the shifter in the 'neutral' position made things easier...work the switch back & forth on the shaft, dont pry on the back, its plastic
