Default How bad did i mess up?

today i was trying to take off and clean my nss on my 97 (with 272k miles..lol) in the removal process, the mounting bolt snapped. i got enough out to where i can still get the safety switch off, but i can actually get it off. not sure whats limiting it, but basically i cant get the nss off and i cant just bolt it back on because i snapped the mounting bolt. Any advice on where to go from here? Thanks yall.

Most switches take a bit of effort to remove, try spraying with some wd40 and a small pry bar working side to side. The only thing that holds it in place is the retaining nut on the shifter shaft and the adjustable retaining bolt.

Have you seen this? I haven't done the procedure (yet), but perhaps the tabbed washer (noted in the link) is preventing your progress... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cf...sh-how-182998/
Sorry...not really helpful, but recalled seeing this recently
