Hi folks, thanks for looking and hope I can find someone with a bit of wiring know-how here. I've got no power windows anywhere, but it's not the master switch problem ( I don't think.) Swapping in a new high quality $20 switch didn't make any changes.
The windows don't work from any switch, but the locks work from everywhere and from the fob. Left power mirror works perfectly, right mirror lacks up and down.
I've checked all my fuses under the hood and inside the passenger kick panel, all good.
This is the first time I'm tackling wiring, but this seems like an issue with the wires themselves, no? I checked my driver door boot and while there were no broken wires, a few had cracks in the sheathing. I went ahead and snipped those at the cracks and reconnected with butt joints. No change in functions.
The first pic here shows the only place in both connecters that lights up. Corresponds to the yellow with green tracer wire. I can poke the lock/unlock wires on the wider switch connecter and get the locks to move. Nothing else.
Checking under the driver side kick panel, it does look like the tan and possibly black wires that feed up to the door are damaged on the sheath. I don't see any exposed wire there though when inspecting. Am I correct that the tan wire is the power supply for the windows? Is it also power for the locks?
Shouldn't the current indicator light come on when I touch the tan wire's connecting spot? Also, those look like butt joints on the tan and yellow wires going in to the connecter on the floor in the second to last pic. Or are those some kind of fuse? Kind of don't look factory to me...
Hey thanks again for taking a look and any help you can offer. I'm no Jeep expert but happy to reciprocate if I can.
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I'm leaning toward just running a parallel wire. I did some more poking around though and found I don't even have current coming into the connector under the kick panel.
Oh my god, the problem is further back in the harness... under all that tape and gummy adhesive?!?! Perfect.
Are you able to tell me which two spots C200 and C201 are? I'm not finding a labeled picture of that anywhere that doesn't look like a phishing site in europe. I assume one is where the tan inserts, yes?
