Hey guys I gotta problem with my 94 Cherokee. I started driving it today and it said my oil pressure was at zero so I check the dipstick and the oils so low its not even touching the dipstick. I did an oil change about 1000 miles ago and completely filled it then. I don't know where it all could have gone. There is a little bit of oil around the valve body gasket but could all that oil have leaked from there? I'm at a the tech school so I'll be bringing it in either today or tomorrow just wanted to see what you guys had to say about it first.
Thanks in advance.

I would top it off, start it. check level again. and look for leaks, it has to be going somewhere, does it smoke? leave spots when parked overnight? let us know how much you had to add to top it off...
check the drain plug, oil filter housing. bot common leaking points, also check the front t/chain cover and rear main.

Yea it took about 4 quarts when I topped it off. Quite a significant topping off. I havn't turned it on since then. It's not making any puddles so I think it's only happening when there is pressure in the system. It's probably been about 3 months since I changed my oil. I'll check for leaks in the morning.

It's either leaking it or burning it.
The top three common spots for leaks are the valve cover, the oil filter adapter, and the rear main seal.
Do you see any blue smoke coming from the exhaust? That would indicate that you are burning oil.
Wouldn't hurt to run a compression test on all cylinders. Run it dry, then run it wet. SEARCH for the "how-to". A compression test is a good "snapshot in time" of the internal condition of the engine. The spec. for compression on the Jeep 4.0 is 120-150 psi, with no more than a 30 psi variation between cylinders.

Hey thanks everyone for the help. Turns out it was just a bad pressure sensor. Oil was shooting out of the connector. I was expecting the worst.

In that your oil level wasn't showing on the dipstick, you may have already done engine damage. Replace the the sensor and check your pressure. Listen for engine noises that you hadn't heard before.
