No interior lights with driver's door
Hey guys/girls, I am having an issue with my dome lights coming on with the driver's door, the issue is that they don't. It is a 91 Laredo. They work with every other door, they turn on with the headlight switch so all the lights work, all other door switches work, I know the fuse is good. I know the driver's door switch works because the buzzer works, like when the lights are on and the door is opened or the key is in the ignition with the door open.
I think I have narrowed it down (with the help of a wiring diagram) the the "Illuminated Entry Relay". I have no idea where this is though. Does anyone know where I can find this relay? Or any other ideas?
Thanks

The same is happening on my 2000 except on the passenger side. I'm not sure how many poles or throws the door jam switches have but I'm sure it's the switch itself. Take the switch out and do a continuity check to see if it's bad.

I had pulled my interior lights out last year while I was doing some interior work on my 87 (so I could leave the doors open without draining the battery). I just
Installed some LED'S, and guess what? They all come on except when I open the driver's door. I'll start with the electrical FSM and see what I can come up with. I'll start with the driver's door switch and go from there

That's how my drivers side went out. It just stopped turning the lights on, then it eventually shorted a few months later and had them all on at half bright, door open or closed, in on or off ... Forced me to swap it out.

Engine: Supercharged 440 Magnum punched .60 - yeah right.. 4.0 like everyone else.
My '99 XJ has a three prong switch that when unbolted, just pulls out of the door jam.
I had the same issue, no lights on D side. Removed the switch, and cleaned each of the pins.
Done.. it's working fine now.

Thanks guys, I didn't think of it being a dual position/single throw switch. I will head out there now to check that out, even though its a brisk 25 degrees outside.

So thanks to you guys, I think I figured out the problem. I took the switch out and one of the pins on the jeep side of the connector corroded and broke away.
Now I just have to figure out a fix for it. Too bad the switch side wasn't the damaged one, cause then it would be just replacing the switch.

Yep, went to the JY today and grabbed a new harness that goes to the driver's door switch, grabbed the connector too. Took care of the issues, no I can see when I get in the Jeep.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
