Default New oil pressure sensor isnt working right

Hey guys, I just got a new oil pressure sensor. Before mine went out, it would read maybe 15 at idle, and go up to probably 30 when I step on it. I broke it and it was pegged way past 80. The new one sat at 60 on the cold start and after a few revs, it goes from 60-80.

Any ideas why it's reading wrong? Break in period maybe? Faulty sensor? I have no clue any info would be great thanks.

This is the sensor I got. Duralast Oil Pressure Switch PS233 https://www.autozone.com/external-en...233/103750_0_0

It is an off brand sensor. They are known for being faulty right out of the box.
I suggest you confirm your oil pressure with a mechanical gauge then buy a Mopar sensor. They are the only ones I trust

Once I thought my oil sender was bad, but it was the connector that had loosened up. I messed with the terminals to get a tighter connection and it’s been fine for years.

I am not too worried about it. It still reads, so I'll know if I lose pressure. Don't really want to pay for another right now. Thanks though, I'll get the Mopar one next time.

And it looks like they are out of stock at Mopar Giant. 4WP has a Crown one but it's also out of stock.
