Well, you would think so. So after reading here that its worth the extra money to get a genuin Jeep oil pressure sensor I decided to stop by my local Jeep stealership to pick one up. I was expecting around $50 as that seems to be the concenses about how much they cost. To my surprise I was quoted $100. WTF! So I say "wait a minute... is that my (local business) price?", he says "oh, no. (local business) price is $80" I'm still kinda in shock.

So, besides the a-hole Jeep dealer, what is a good brand and place to buy a good oil pressure sensor? This would be for a '97 4.0L.

I like to go oem on parts whenever I can, but $80. bucks or for that matter 58. for oem is steep when I purchased mine for like $24. from a local parts store installed it & tested it against a mechanical gauge. Forget the brand name they sold me but it works fine.

This is where I order my MOPAR OEM parts. Can't beat their price.....

https://www.moparonlineparts.com/

Still worth it guys to fork out for the OEM sending unit. Longevity is not a quality of many aftermarket units.

i bought a BWD from Oreilly's for 30 bucks three years ago. Didnt pay attention and broke it on the first oil change .
Ill agree on MoparOnline also. 43 or so bucks shipped aint bad for a 94.
97 price is 58 + 14 shipping. better off at your local..
Good Luck!

I'd definitely get an OEM one. I needed to replace mine and I made the mistake of getting one from autozone (crappy Duralast brand) and it did not help my gauge at all. In fact, made it a heck of a lot worse. Wish I had a picture of my gauge right now to show you but the needle is pointed horizontally to the right (basically maxed out)
