All of my interior has been remove.
How hard is it to install new carpet if I buy the preformed type?

Does anyone have a good source for new seatbelts. Tan

Relatively easy if the seats are out. Bunch of trim need to come off. While the carpet is out, inspect the floorboards really well and address any rust or rotten sections. Paint/seal the floor with good epoxy based paint, por-15, or bedliner. I like the cheap roll-on duplicolor/harborfreight bedliner, but it takes a while to get rid of the solvent smell (don't get the herculiner on your hootus - google if you don't get the reference).

if you are planning to do the headliner as well, it is good to at least get it out before you replace the carpet. It can drop a lot of debris on the new carpet during removal.

You might consider adding some sound deadening material while everything's out.

I plan to when I fix my sagging headliner soon.

All right, Seatbelt Planet has everything I need.

My floors are in good shape, no rust, I did add quit a bit of hush mat and kilmat, and some boom mat everywhere, inside the doors, the floors.

i find precut stuff is very poor in the aftermarket world and better off just scoping out a junkyard for a carpet and pressure wash the bejeezits outta it. its what i did and couldnt have been happier.

I personally wouldn't be so hard on pre-cut carpet kits. It is true they don't just "fit", they take some finesse. The vendors will entice you with backing, which makes the carpet sections heavy and stiff. Custom carpet installers will install this backing material first, independent of the carpet, but there are advantages to the backing. There are several good videos that show carpet kit installations. Most omit the fact you can cut the front carpet down the center to the shifter and make installing much easier. If you decide to install a kit, you will need heavier duty scissors than what is probably currently in your drawer.

Lay the carpet out in the sun for a couple hours to warm up if it has a backing. It will relax and help it fit better. Usually. Just watch for birds if its laying out. You can maybe get by with a heat gun to warm the carpet in key areas as well if you dont want to lay it out, or have nowhere to do it. I never used a heatgun for that, but its something to try.

oh before you put everything back together get some felt mounting tape and press the clips through it. really cuts down on interior noise
