Default Need Help Identifying a Part.

Hey gang,
I was in the middle of changing out all my mail electrical cables to up sized ones and I ran into an issue. When I disconnected the main ground from the engine block I accidentally broke the connector that was on the post under the ground cable. The best i can tell it is goes above the coil and plugs into the wire coming out of the distributor. I am trying to id this so i can get a new one as I screwed up the wire pretty good and there isn't enough extra to make a repair work. I will try and get pics when I can if that will help.
Thank gang.

Jason

Yeah get pictures for sure. I can only think you boogered up a ground wire.

Is this a broken wire that was on the block ground studs?

i will try to get a pic tonight when I get home. Yes, the wire had a ring terminal on it that was secured under the main ground wire. didn't see it as it was coming up off the top of it and i was laying underneath trying to get it to break loose.

ok, after a wekk of rain, and late nights from work I finally have some pics. From what I can see there is a small wire loom coming around between the distributor and the block, in that loom is the wires that run from the bottom of the distributor and connect into one side of the coil, and there are 2 other wires that both seem to be terminated at the ground point on the block, one on each bolt. It looks like I am going to have to open up the loom and trace that wire all the way back to where it goes. I will post the pics and maybe one of you guys will have some insights.

you can see the wire I stripped and broke here.

here another shot of both wires going to ground and the connector going into the coil

this is the connector on wire coming from the bottom of the distributor

Here is a different angle of the ground connections

Looks to me like it just goes to the ground. If so I'd just crimp on a splice connector with another wire and call it done.

Easy fix. I see another wire with cracked insulation. Take care of that also.
