Default Need Help with Gasket !

Im in the process of removing my Oil Pan off the bottom of my Jeep and the dang thing is taking me days of prying with a putty knife trying to get it to let loose from the Motor.

Is there any Super Fast method i could use ?

Thanks guys.

yep

I can slide the putty knife down about 45% of the Pans gasket edge now, but it just feels like its taking forever.

The last people who owned it, it looks like they used the Glue/cocking type Seal, there is no Cork or Rubber in between it, but instead its like this really sticky glue.

No super fast method, luckily mine came right off today. Once you crack it, it should come off nicely......A pry bar or screw driver is all I know. You want to make sure you dont f*** up the metal though. Try a few different locations, you just need to crack it, it doesn't matter where.

the starter is out, and the muffler is out, and once it breaks free ill jack it up and drop the front axle.

I tryed putting some Gasket remover on one edge but my face and hands started burning really bad , so i put that crap away.

I guess I'll just keep "slicing" away at it with the putty knife.

Ouch sorry to hear that......sounds like cleaning off that stuff is going to be a real pain.....I like it when the PO uses nice reusable gaskets, and I try to do the same just in case I have to go back in there again.
