31s.

The big issue is that the CAD system only fails when you need it the most.

Kinda like when you don't realize your wiper blades need replacing til it rains....

I know Flintstone's system works and he advocates keeping it stock, but my exposure to the failures is probably hundreds of times greater than his, as a result of being Service Manager at a Jeep dealership from 1980 through 1992, and being a current XJ and MJ owner.

CAD stinks. Every Jeep I work on with it, I eliminate it. Guess what I find in the process? 25 year old busted vac lines, bloated vac line connectors, bad vac reservoirs and piping. In other words, had the person gotten into a sticky situation and needed 4WD, they would have been screwed!!!

That's the tip of the iceberg. The factory went through 3 revisions of the shift fork also. The fork issue is non-existent if you just slide it over and leave it.

Pretty much every YJ owner. It stayed stock until the end in 1995, that's what DFlintstone's diagram is for.

Something like 20 years with something like two Jeeps, I had the fork break once on the 84. (maybe related to that redesign). Other than that just the lines falling off has been the whole of it. (A zip-tie took care of that)

Meanwhile my carriage, ring and pinion, pinion bearing, front U-Joints, and what-ever spins in the transfer case is turning 1/2 the speed it would with a solid axle. More work for the manufacturer, but less for me. This is absolutely the only time I'd say I'm a "disco" guy!

"The Chosen Few"

Jeep made some indestructible ones to make sure they didn't need a recall

I found that flushing the vacuum lines and axle servo with this stuff made a big improvement.

I was always curious. Would that work on high mileage. You don't need the synthetic style. And that crap must be expensive since no other company makes it yet
