Mystery Wires

88 Cherokee 6 cylinder. On the exhaust side of engine ive found this wiring harness and wires loose. Any ideas on this?

Only one O2 sensor on a REnix and that could be it. Get a pic of what's dangling on the end.

Actually nothing is on the end. They are cut clean. Would replacing the O2 sensor help performance? Im sure thats what it is. And where can I get one?
