Default Mysterious Plug (Help)

First time Cherokee owner/ new to forum
I’ve got a 1994 L6 SE bought used (obviously)
and among countless other jerry rigs I have found and fixed, this one has stumped me I have this plug that was vigorously wrapped in electrical / duct tape and looks to have been this way for awhile. Cant find where it plugs in has some sort of mount midway and having a hard time determining whether it’s stock or “after market” if anyone has an educated guess or has a similar model they want to take a look it’d be greatly appreciated thank you

yeah thought about that but there’s no evidence of having a hood light and from what I understand the SE didn’t come with a hood light but I don’t know

Lots of times the harness/connection is there for the option but just not the option itself.
Plus that piece of plastic with the hole in it taped to the harness looks just like what secures it to the hood when you do have the light.

Remember in the 90's you could special order options if you ordered from the factory. Many people ordered things like low ratio rear axles or tow packages, limited slip differentials, custom upholstery, radios, sound systems, I think there were even a few manual transmission ZJs built. I don't think there were many 5.9 V8 ZJs delivered to dealerships that weren't ordered specially.

Is that white stuff on the plug on it dielectric grease? If so I would say it was used.

No, just duct tape residue from years of being wrapped
