Default my jeep died on me.

So my jeep has been diying on me sometimes while driving lately. But it would always start back up. Yesterday it died and wouldn't start again until I drained the battery and had to get pulled home. Today I charged the battery and it started. I let it run and after about ten minutes it starts running worse and eventually dies. It also smells lime fuel. But it starts back up. Sometimes right away sometimes cranks for longer but starts. I read about the cps . does this sound like a cps issue or something else ? There is a check engine light on also but it has been on forever. Any advice here ?

first advice.. Drive to autozone and see what code the CEL is throwing. They will tell you for free. To me it sounds like you may have a fuel delivery problem, but give a little more detail on how it drives.

Yeah. Just tried going but the jeep won't start now.
When it starts it drives perfectly though.

So for a half hour the jeep wouldn't stary on me. Came back ten minutes later. Started right away no hesitation. Put it in gear drove two feet, died. Started it again drove forward , reverse, everything good. Shut it off , turned it back on. Still won't drive to advance. Dont want to risk it.

Idles perfectly, runs perfectly when it runs. When i leave it running in the garage right before it dies it idles lower and lower until it dies (no chugging though). When I drive it dies instantly. Without any change in rpm whatsoever. It seems electrical. I just dont know why it smells like fuel.

track down that fuel smell... It honestly sounds like a fuel delivery problem

Two jobs.

1. Read codes. If you can't get to Autozone, beg borrow or steal a code reader and read the codes. You truly need this information.

2. Track down the fuel smell. Know this; fuel leaks can lead to fires and then you'll have bigger fish to fry. Tolerate no fuel smells.....
