Default multifunctional switch

can someone give me a step by step guide to changing a multifunctional switch(blinker and wiper assembly)? I have no idea what to do after I pulled the steering wheel, removed the plate that has the spring behind it and removed the 3 torx 30 screws. Oh and yes i did search for this. lol

i snapped the lever off about 9 months ago and jb welded it back together. Two nights ago the internal mechanism broke because it is flaccid and when i push on it either way it honks haha. It needs to be replaced and i know its not the ring shaped switch because i replaced that 4 months ago.

I know what needs to be replaced and I have the part to fix it. I just have no clue how to take the steering column apart enough to get the old one out. Its an 89 and it has the GM style column.

If you have the GM column, perhaps this will help:

Saginaw (GM) built steering columns for a lot of manufacturers, including Jeep.
