Default dumb BJ question

Should the upper balljoints swivel? I think yshould, but both my uppers seem pretty rigid, I couldnt even move them with a BFH. I will be getting new ones, kind of just curious.

Yes, but they should have some resistance, but enough to require a hammer.

I was expecting a completely different conversation, judging from the thread title.
Nevermind.

Does the shaft move freely? Like back and forth I mean. I wouldnt worry about it "swiveling" to much. Have you tried lubing them up?

no movement at all, no swivelling, no back/forth, pretty much seized. Now the lowers are very sloppy, all sorts of movement every direction short of falling out. Like I said, I'm replacing all 4. Anything better than the MOOG problem solvers? Check out my avatar, these things will see some abuse.

I got turned off to MOOG some years back after a batch of bad parts and never went back. They may be fine or even excellent, I don't know...I have no recent experience with them to share.
I've had good results with Spicer/Dana, or if you need the offset joints, Raybestos. I use the AC Delco u-joints and have been pleased...their ball joints may be another good option as well.
